Nets Clinch Seventh With Another Win Over Knicks

The Nets clinched the seventh seed in the East and moved to within a half game of Washington for sixth by completing a season sweep of the Knicks Monday night at Madison Square Garden. Vince Carter recorded his second triple-double in the last six games with 29 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists and Bostjan Nachbar had another big game off the bench with 19 points as the Nets assisted on 27 of their 29 field goals. A 13-2 Nets run to start the second quarter opened the game up, but the Knicks climbed back in the second half and were down just four early in the fourth quarter. The Nets put them away after that, cruising to a nine-point victory.
