The Nets are just one game behind the Wizards (holding the tie-breaker) with two to play, coming off a win in Indiana and Washington's loss to Chicago Sunday afternoon. Vince Carter scored 16 of his game-high 35 points (including the first nine points of the game by either team) in the first quarter and the Nets led by eight early in the second. A 15-5 Indiana run then gave them the lead and they led by two at the half. It was a one-point New Jersey lead with less than five minutes to go when Carter and Bostjan Nachbar sparked an 8-0 run to take control. Still, the Pacers had a chance to tie with a little over a minute to go, but a Danny Granger three was off the mark. Nachbar finished with 25 points on 7-of-9 from the floor (including a perfect 6-of-6 from downtown), Richard Jefferson added 18 on 7-of-11 and Jason Kidd pitched in 12 points, eight boards and 10 assists.
