RJ Returns, but Nets Look Ugly Once Again

Richard Jefferson saw his first game action since Jan. 20 in the first half Friday night in Houston and actually started the second half, but the Nets played one of their worst games of the season (which is an accomplishment at this point) in a 21-point loss to the Rockets. They shot just 39% from the field for the game (and those not named Bostjan Nachbar shot 32%), which Jefferson, Kidd and Carter leading the futility with a combined 8-for-34. Nachbar was the only bright spot, scoring a career-high 29 points on 10-of-14 and grabbing seven boards. After an ugly start, a 13-1 Nets run got them to within three early in the second quarter, but the Rockets then went on their own 11-0 run and the game was never close after that, with the Rockets leading by as many as 34. The Nets are now 2-10 on the road against the West.
