In a feature about Chauncey Billups' impending free agency, Denver Post columnist Mark Kiszla drops this little nugget: "the word on the street is Michael Jordan in Charlotte, one of the few clubs with money to burn, has the hots for Vince Carter, a renowned dunker in the final season of his deal with New Jersey." If Carter decides to not exercise his player option for 2007-08, he will be competing with Billups for free agent money this summer and Charlotte will have the cap space to acquire VC without needing to do a sign-and-trade deal with the Nets. In an interview with Bobcats television, Jordan said, "Obviously the problem in Charlotte is they don't have a Michael Jordan."
