Nets Continue to Sink With Ugly Loss to Sixers

Early on Sunday night in Philadelphia, the Nets looked like they had put Saturday's collapse to Boston behind them. They led by as many as 17 in the first quarter and by 12 after one. The remaining 36 minutes were painfully unwatchable. The Sixers opened the second quarter with a 20-3 run to take a five-point lead and led by six at the break. They then opened the second half with a 10-0 run to take complete control and led by as many as 19 late in the third. The Nets could only get as close as eight points with a few minutes to go in the game. Jason Kidd recorded his 10th triple-double of the season, but made just five of his 14 shots, and the rest of the team was no better, shooting 38% from the field. Vince Carter was 4-of-20 and finished with nine points. The Sixers shot 49% and outrebounded the Nets (who are now just 7-6 against the rest of the Atlantic) 56-43.
