Kidd Named Player of the Week, Teammates Praise RJ's D

Jason Kidd was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week by the NBA on Monday. Kidd averaged 14.5 ppg, 12.8 apg, 7.5 rpg and 2.75 steals as the Nets went 3-1 last week. It is Kidd's ninth Player of the Week award as a Net and he did it all while battling the flu. It is also the second time a Net has been honored in a month. Vince Carter was chosen three weeks ago. Meanwhile, both Kidd and Mikki Moore credited Richard Jefferson (specifically, his communication) for the Nets' defensive improvement.
