Nets Execute Down the Stretch to Beat Clippers

Cuttino Mobley would not get another chance to beat the Nets in the final seconds this time. Sunday night's game at the Meadowlands was tight throughout and it was tied with six minutes to go in the final period. The Nets then scored on nine of their next 12 possessions while getting enough stops on the opposite end to take control of the game down the stretch. The Clippers never had a chance to tie in the final minutes as the Nets put them away at the free throw line. Jason Kidd led the way with 23 points, 13 assists, six boards and six steals, Richard Jefferson had his first double-double of the season and Vince Carter added 22 points, including 11 in the fourth quarter.
