Kidd and Frank Ejected as Nets Drop Fifth Straight

Not surprisingly, the Nets are leaving Texas without a win. They lost their fifth straight game Saturday night in San Antonio, as the Spurs extended their winning streak to 12 games. The Nets actually held a one-point lead with two minutes to go in the second quarter, but the Spurs finished the half on a 10-0 run and were in control the rest of the way. Frustrated with the officiating, both Jason Kidd and Lawrence Frank were ejected as the Nets picked up five technical fouls in the final four and a half minutes of the third quarter, and San Antonio built their lead to 18 early in the fourth. The Nets then made a bit of a run, closing to within seven, but the Spurs quickly put them away after that. San Antonio made 30 trips to the line, compared to just 13 for the Nets, who didn't exactly help themselves, shooting just 42% from the floor, including 2-of-13 from downtown. Richard Jefferson started and played 35 minutes.
