Congresswoman Adds to Chorus Opposing Barclays

Barclays Bank continues to deny it made its early fortunes off slavery, but African-American leaders in Brooklyn--most of them supporters of Bruce Ratner's Atlantic Yards--continue to demand it pull out of the project. The latest: Congresswoman Yvette Clark. Clark cited the bank's links to "to Nazi Germany, Apartheid in South Africa and the transatlantic slave trade" in opposing the naming rights deal which would bring the Nets $300+ million.
