Nets Win Tale of Two Halves

The Knicks got whatever they wanted offensively in the first half Sunday night at the Meadowlands, scoring 53 points on 54% shooting, and they led by nine at the break. The Nets turned up the D in the third quarter however, and they got hot on the other end as well. They started the second half with a 28-8 run to turn the nine-point deficit into an 11-point lead. The Knicks cut it down to five midway through the fourth, but the Nets finished them off by scoring the next eight points. New York shot just 41% in the second half and for the game, the Nets committed just six turnovers. Vince Carter led all scorers with 40 points and added nine boards and eight assists. Jason Kidd dished out 14 dimes, Mikki Moore scored 19 points on 9-of-14 and Boki Nachbar recorded his first career double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds off the bench. Stephon Marbury scored 13 points in the first quarter for the Knicks, but just nine after that.
