The trade deadline has come and gone and Jason Kidd and Vince Carter are still Nets. After all the speculation, Rod Thorn and Ed Stefanski decided to stay put. Stefanski says that they never got close to a deal, because while there were financial deals available, there were none that meant basketball sense, and Bruce Ratner told them to not let money effect their decision making.
