Carter's 46 Aren't Enough

The Nets got a huge game from Vince Carter Wednesday night at the Meadowlands, but they could not protect a seven-point, fourth-quarter lead, losing for the first time to former coach Byron Scott. Carter shot 14-of-25 from the field and 12-of-12 from the line for a season-high 46 points, including 32 after halftime. But Jason Kidd shot just 2-of-14 from the field for six points, and when the Nets led by seven points with 8:45 to go in the game, the Hornets went on an 11-1 run and scored on seven straight possessions to take control of the game and the Nets never had a chance to tie down the stretch. David West led the Hornets with a season-high 32 points.
