In an interview with ESPN's Chad Ford, Rod Thorn says that while "you never know...probably nothing will get done between now and the deadline" next Thursday. The Nets' president added that Vince Carter likes playing in New Jersey and believes his situation "will be resolved rather quickly" this summer, noting with "very wealthy owners", money "really doesn't play a role" in personnel decisions. Dave D'Alessandro thinks all this means Carter is a goner in a sign-and-trade this summer. Meanwhile, ESPN's Chris Sheridan hears the Nets are "seriously in the mix" for Pau Gasol.
