The Nets announced Tuesday morning that Jason Kidd has been diagnosed with a strained lower back and will miss both Tuesday's game against San Antonio and Wednesday's game in Toronto. He is also doubtful for the NBA All-Star Game next week. It's the first time Kidd has missed a game to injury since returning from microfracture surgery at the end of 2004. Marcus Williams will start...and that's not a bad thing, writes Dave D'Alessandro. The team has confidence in him and themselves.
