With Saturday night's game in the balance late in the third quarter after the Magic took their first lead since the opening minute, Marcus Williams went on a personal 8-2 run that eventually turned into a 21-8 run for the Nets, giving them control of a game that they led most of the way. The Nets' bench combined to outscore that of the Magic 34-14, while also grabbing 20 rebounds, led by a career-high 10 boards from Boki Nachbar. Vince Carter caught fire early and led all scorers with 32 points on 12-of-23 from the field, while Jason Kidd added 10 points, nine boards and six assists.
