Kidd Can't...or Won't Go, Nets Can't Win

The Nets have been shorthanded all season, but then Jason Kidd and Josh Boone went down, both supposedly with migraines Wednesday, and Lawrence Frank had just eight healthy bodies in uniform against the Knicks at IZOD Center. While Boone's migraine was real, Kidd's was suspect. New York took the lead early and, although the Nets stayed within reach, led throughout. Their biggest lead was 14 early in the fourth quarter and when the Nets had cut it down to five with less than two minutes to go, Jamal Crawford hit a dagger three to put the game away. Other than a brief flurry here or there, the Nets could not get much done offensively. Richard Jefferson led all scorers with 31 points--pushing him into the third spot in the NBA scoring race. But he and Vince Carter combined to shoot just 17-of-40 from the field. The Knicks picked up their first road win of the season and the Nets fell to 4-7 at home.
