Nets Can't Hang With Pistons

The Nets have improved over the last few games, and they showed it in the first half Wednesday night at the IZOD Center, but they've still got a ways to go, as they showed in the second half. They led the Pistons by six late in the second quarter, but Detroit finished the half on a 9-2 run to take a one-point lead into the break. Then they started the third quarter with a 15-4 run to take complete control of the game, and the Nets never threatened after that. Each team had five players in double figures, but the Pistons shot 54 percent from the field and committed just 11 turnovers. For the Nets, Vince Carter had 21 points on 8-of-11 from the field and Richard Jefferson added 18 on 5-of-11, but Jason Kidd missed all eight of his shots, scoring just two points.
