Nets Get OT Win in Miami

It took an extra five minutes, but the Nets made some big shots, got some big stops and were able to outlast the Heat in Miami Thursday night. The game was tight throughout, the Nets came back from down seven midway through the fourth, and it went back and forth in the final minutes of regulation. Vince Carter gave the Nets a two-point lead with a three with 10 seconds to go, but Udonis Haslem hit a 16-footer at the buzzer to send the game to OT. In the extra period, the Nets got five points from Josh Boone and game-sealing free throws from Carter to pick up the four-point victory. Carter led the Nets with 31 points to go along with eight boards and six assists. Richard Jefferson added 29, Jason Kidd grabbed 11 boards and dished out 10 assists, and Malik Allen scored a season-high 18 points on 9-of-11 from the field. Dwyane Wade led all scorers with 41, but the Nets outrebounded the Heat and did a better job of defending the three point line, as Miami shot just 3-for-13 from downtown. The bad news: Antoine Wright went down with a right ankle injury at the end of the third quarter.
