Kings Burn Nets From Downtown

The energy was there for the Nets Tuesday night at the IZOD Center, but their inability to guard the three point line brought their sixth loss in the last seven games, this one a 106-101 defeat at the hands of the Kings. Sacramento hit 13-of-21 from downtown, with the most important being a Francisco Garcia dagger that gave them a four-point lead, that held up when they made their ensuing free throws, with 15 seconds to go. The Nets shot 51 percent from the field, Richard Jefferson led all scorers with 36 points and Jason Kidd was one assist shy of a triple-double, but the pair combined for 11 of the team's 22 turnovers. Sean Williams finished with 11 points, seven boards and eight blocked shots (tying a Nets rookie record). It was just the second road victory of the season for the Kings, who were led by a career-high 31 points from John Salmons.
