Nets End Slide With Win Over Cavs

After six minutes of action Friday night at the IZOD Center, it looked like another ugly performace at home, but the Nets turned it around and used a strong second half to defeat the Cavs, ending their four-game losing streak. They opened the game shooting 1-for-11 from the field and trailed by 11 early, but Vince Carter got things going after that and the game was tight most of the way. The Nets trailed by seven at the break, but they outscored the Cavs 55-40 in the second half, getting it done on both ends of the floor. Carter led all scorers with 32 points on 13-of-22 from the field, adding seven boards and six assists. Richard Jefferson scored 24 while also doing a solid job guarding LeBron James, Jason Kidd finished with eight points, eight boards, 11 assists and five steals, and Boki Nachbar scored 13 off the bench. But the biggest lift came from Josh Boone (15 points and eight boards in 24 minutes) and Sean Williams (nine points and four boards in 22 minutes), who held their own against Cleveland's tough frontline.
