Nets Can't Build on Road Trip Upon Returning Home

The first home game after a long trip usually gives the Nets problems, and Tuesday's matchup with the Grizzlies was no different as the Nets lost their fifth straight game at the IZOD Center. They came out sluggish in the first half, trailing by 13 at the break and by 18 early in the third quarter, but they got back in it and trailed by just two early in the fourth. They got their first chance to tie down three with 1:17 to go, but Richard Jefferson missed a wide open jumper from beyond the arc and after a pair of ill-advised fouls, the Grizzlies never gave them another chance to draw even. Vince Carter led the Nets with 32 points, adding nine boards and seven assists, Jason Kidd recorded his fourth triple-double of the season, and Jefferson added 27 points, but the Nets shot just 7-of-24 from downtown.
