Nets Come Back to Win Thriller in L.A.

The Nets are going home with a three-game winning streak after getting their best win of the season Sunday night at STAPLES Center. They turned the ball over 12 times and shot just 39 percent in the first half and trailed the Lakers by 12 at the break. But, led by Jason Kidd, they turned up the energy in the third quarter, scoring 35 points in the period and tying the game as it headed into the fourth. They then went on a 10-0 run early in the fourth and led by as many as 12, but the Lakers used a 17-3 run to regain the lead with a minute and a half to go. The Nets got the lead back though, and after a wild sequence in the final seconds where Kidd fouled Kobe Bryant on a three attempt to tie and Bryant missed the third free throw, won by two after Vladimir Radmanovic missed a three at the buzzer. Richard Jefferson led the Nets with 27 points, Kidd finished with 15 points, seven boards and 14 assists, and Vince Carter added 19 points (including 11 in the fourth quarter) off the bench. Bryant led all scorers with 31 points, but Kidd and Antoine Wright held him to just 7-of-21 from the field.
