Nets Survive Seattle Comeback

The Nets held off a late Sonics run at KeyArena Friday night to pick up their second straight win. The Nets took the lead for good early in the second quarter and led by 10 at halftime, but they never could put the Sonics away and Seattle came back in the fourth to cut the lead to one with less than a minute to go. It was a three-point game in the closing seconds, but Vince Carter fould Delonte West to prevent a game-tying three, and after West missed both free throws, Richard Jefferson converted a pair on the other end for a five-point victory. RJ led all scorers with 30 points on 10-of-22 from the field, Carter added 15 points, 5 boards and 5 assists in 35 minutes off the bench, and in his second start, Malik Allen had his best game as a Net, recording 12 points and 6 rebounds. Nenad Krstic did not play.
