Nets End the Streak

Vince Carter returned to action Wednesday night at the Rose Garden and the Nets returned to the win column, but it was Jason Kidd, Richard Jefferson and Boki Nachbar who did the heavy lifting in a 106-101 win over the Blazers. Portland led by as much as 11, both in the second and third quarters, but the Nets fought back and the two teams exchanged leads throughout the fourth. After Nachbar tied it with a three and the Blazers couldn't answer, Jason Kidd went coast to coast for a three-point play that gave the Nets the lead with 42 seconds left. Jason Collins then took a charge to get the ball back and Kidd chased down a Nachbar miss to seal the game. Kidd recorded his third triple-double of the season with 12 points, 11 boards and 13 assists, Richard Jefferson led all scorers with 30 points on 8-of-12 from the field, Nachbar had a season-high 23, and Carter pitched in with 13 points in 27 minutes off the bench.
