Jefferson and Wright Star as Nets Beat Bulls in OT

The Nets blew a 17-point, third-quarter lead, but Antoine Wright and Richard Jefferson hit two big shots apiece in overtime to lead them to a nine-point victory over the Bulls to open the season Wednesday night at IZOD Center. The game was tight through the first quarter, but the Nets took control in the second and finished the half on a 16-6 run to take a 15-point lead into the break. It was a 17-point game early in the third when the Bulls came charging back and tying it late in the quarter. In the fourth, the Nets led by seven with two minutes to go, but Chicago finished the period on a 7-0 run to send it to OT. Wright finished with a career-high 21 points, with 14 of them coming in the fourth quarter and OT. Jefferson led all scorers with 29, also leading the Nets with 10 boards. Vince Carter shot just 6-of-21 from the field, but finished with 24 points, nine boards and six assists. Jason Kidd took just four shots, but seven points, eight boards, 13 assists and five steals.
