Rained Out!

It'll be a while before the NBA schedules another preseason game at the DCU Center in Worcester, Mass. After a half in which mop-wielding ballboys got as much action as the players, the game between the Nets and Celtics was called on account of poor playing conditions. The center's basketball court had been placed over a minor league hockey rink. When the rink ice began melting, condensation built up on the court. Celtics were leading, 36-33, when it was called. None of the stats and records will count, the NBA announced.
