Nets Come Up Empty Upon Returning Home

The Nets seemed to be suffering from a bit of jet lag Wednesday night at the Meadowlands, about 40 hours after returning from Utah early Tuedsday morning. The Detroit Pistons took full advantage, scorching the Nets for more than 30 points in each of the first three quarters, while shooting 55% from the field for the game. Thanks to 18 first-quarter points from Mikki Moore, the Nets were able to keep pace for the first 12 minutes, but Detroit built their lead up to 11 by halftime and 24 by the end of the third quarter. It was garbage time from then on out. Moore led the Nets with 20 points, while Vince Carter misssed his first eight shots and finished with 11 points on 4-of-15 shooting.
