Nets Blow Another One

The Nets suffered another crushing defeat out West as the Warriors came back from 11 down with less than five minutes to go and Monta Ellis hit the game-winning jumper at the buzzer. The Nets started out hot and led by 16 after one, but Golden State used a 15-0 second quarter run to get back in the game. After that, the game was relatively tight until a 9-2 run gave them that 11-point lead late. A 13-2 Golden State run tied it before Jason Kidd hit a three with one minute to go. After a pair of Al Harrington free throws, Boki Nachbar could have sealed the win, but his three from the corner fell short. Baron Davis grabbed the rebound with six seconds to go and raced down the floor where he found Ellis on the left wing for the game winner. The Nets shot 51% from the floor, but committed 22 turnovers, eight from Jason Kidd, who led the team with 23 points and 10 boards. Vince Carter recorded a career-high 13 assists and Nachbar and Marcus Williams combined to score 31 points off the bench.
