Nets' Brooklyn Arena to be Named 'Barclays Center'

At $637 million, the Nets' new arena will be the most expensive ever built. Now, the New York Post is reporting the arena is poised to become the most lucrative, at least in terms of naming rights. The team will announce Thursday that it has made a deal with Barclays Bank to name the arena the "Barclays Center". London-based Barclays has agreed to pay the Nets "hundreds of millions of dollars over the next 20 years" for the naming rights. More proof owner Bruce Ratner is a different breed.
