Thorn: Carter Contract Talks Will Wait Til Spring

Rod Thorn told reporters Tuesday that Vince Carter is happy to wait til spring before taking up his new contract. Carter has a player option June 30. "He is very happy where he is," Thorn said. "You've talked to him. He likes his teammates. He likes playing here, but right now he is very content to see what happens." Thorn added the Nets youthful bench has to perform. He also expects Nenad Krstic will improve. In a seperate interview with NBA TV, Thorn said that the Nets needed a shooter (which they hopefully have addressed with the addition of Eddie House), needed to change the chemistry of the bench and now need to reduce Jason Kidd's minutes.
