The Nets plan on using about $800,000 of this year's $5.1 million mid-level exception to sign 2005 draft choice Mile Ilic to a multi-year deal, reports Al Iannazzone of the Record. Iannazzone says the Nets will waive Zoran Planinic later this week, pending completion of his physical with Tau Ceramica, then move to sign the 7'-2" Ilic. The Serb center is in Singapore and will travel next week to Japan for the World Championships. He wouldn't be available until mid-September at the earliest.
