How KMart Became Marcus Williams...the Lost History of July 2004

Two years ago, the Nets were in the throes of an off-season that could hardly be described as fan-friendly. The team had been forced to sell its first round pick and trade two fan favorites. At the time, it looked like a salary dump of massive proportions, but looking back, it was just a case of rebuilding on the fly, with 2005-06 being the second most successful regular season in team history. Vince Carter became a Net, as did Cliff Robinson and Marcus Williams, as a result of those 2004 deals.
