Ira Winderman, writing in the Sporting News, says that the Nets have told point guard Jeff McInnis that he will not be welcome at the Nets training camp this fall. The Nets want to trade McInnis but could wind up buying out his $3.6 million contract. McInnis would be the seventh Net to be bought out in the Thorn era, following Jim McIlvaine, Jamie Feick, Chris Childs, Dikembe Mutombo, Ron Mercer, and Zoran Planinic.
