In spite of entreaties from the Serbian president and Serbian national team coach, Nenad Krstic has decided to forego the World Championships this August and stay in New Jersey to train.
Dragan Sakota announced Krstic's decision Friday, saying he had failed to persuade the 7-footer. The head of Serbia's basketball association angrily said the team deserved better treatment from the Nets center. Mile Ilic, the Nets' 7'-2" draft choice, is with the team and is now likely to play a greater role.
