Boone Has Shoulder Surgery, Out 4 to 6 Months

The Nets announced late Wednesday that rookie Josh Boone has undergone arthroscopic surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder, then updated their statement Thursday to say recovery will take 4-to-6 months. Boone felt discomfort during the Pepsi Pro Summer League. The surgery will now push the Nets into a more aggressive stance in the free agent market, Thorn said. The agent for Mile Ilic, their 2005 draft choice, says he is available, but Thorn thinks he needs experience.
