Ad-Free Uniforms May Be a Thing of the Past

In a little-noticed article, Nets' CEO Brett Yormark and Mavs' owner Mark Cuban label as outmoded one of the NBA's oldest taboos: selling advertising on team uniforms. The NBA doesn't even allow Reebok, which outfits the league's players, to place its logo on uniforms. But the execs think the time has come and with teams losing money, David Stern tends to agree. Yormark, a former NASCAR executive, even wants to sell team names to the highest bidder.
