Big Step for Brooklyn: Ratner Gets $100 Million from State

In a budget agreement worked out in Albany Friday, New York State agreed to fund infrastructure improvements near the Nets planned arena in Brooklyn. The money will go toward things like upgraded streets and sidewalks, utility relocations, environmental remediation, open space and parking. The city has also committed $100 million from its budget. The arena and the rest of the $3.5 billion, 16-skyscraper plan is expected to be approved later this summer.
