New York is about to embark on a sports building boom unlike any before. Not only are the Nets planning a new arena in Brooklyn, but the Mets, Yankees, Jets, Giants, Rangers, Knicks, Devils, Islanders could all be in new or highly reburbished digs within a decade. With billions about to be spent, a lot of it public money, the New York Sun asks is it worth it to the city and to the average fan who increasily seems to be taking a back seat to his corporate brethren.
