It's not as if Brett Yormark, the Nets CEO, has a lot of free time. But Bruce Ratner is pushing his newest sports venture, the AVP Beach Volleyball Brooklyn Open in Coney Island this summer. So this week, the Nets announced that they had signed one of their own corporate sponsors, Cushman & Wakefield, to a three-year, mid-six-figure deal for beach volleyball. The idea, say Nets brass, is to get experience in booking and marketing events for 240 non-basketball dates at the new Nets arena.
