Let's face it...he's lousy copy. The Nets' Lawrence Frank just won't rant and rave and call out his players publicly. Won't happen. Goad him if you want. Push him hard. Nope. Won't do it. He understands as well as any NBA coach that it's a players' league. He also understands his former boss, Byron Scott, never got that, still hasn't for that matter. So his defense of Vince Carter may not have been just heartfelt. It may have been just plain smart. In a poll of NBA general managers conducted by NBA.com, Frank received two second place votes for Coach of the Year.
