Simmons: Kidd one of the NBA's Almost Valuable Players

ESPN's Bill Simmons goes through a process of elimination to get to his choice for MVP (Kobe Bryant). Along the way he offers comments on the undeserving (Iverson: "mortal lock to be playing somewhere else next season" and Garnett: "Isn't it his job to carry a crappy team?"). In his top 10 is Jason Kidd ("only player who could have salvaged Vince Carter's career, like Tarantino taking a chance on Travolta in "Pulp Fiction"). Bottom line: "Kidd's teams always seem to win more than they lose".
