Nets Can't Get Past Bulls

The Bulls were playing for the playoffs Tuesday night at the United Center and they were able to fight off the Nets to pull back into a tie with the Sixers for the eighth spot in the East. The game was tight throughout, but the Nets were never able to get the lead back in the final six minutes. Ben Gordon scored eight points in less than a minute to give the Bulls a seven-point lead with 1:22 to go, and while the Nets kept it interesting after that (including a half-court shot from Vince Carter at the buzzer), the Bulls never gave them a chance to tie or take the lead. The Nets scored 101 points, but got some poor shooting performances from Jason Kidd (1-7) and the bench (3-12). Carter led all scorers with 43 points and Richard Jefferson added 22.
