The second building in the way of the Nets' new arena started to come down on Thursday...although Bruce Ratner still does not have approval to build and New York state may not come up with all the funds he has sought for infrastructure improvements. The building is deemed so unstable that it will take weeks to come down. Meanwhile, the state legislature has only earmarked $33 million for improvements, one-third of what Ratner wanted.
