Ratner Lobbying for $100 Million in State Funds

Bruce Ratner has dispatched his lobbyists to Albany in hopes of getting $100 million in state funds earmarked for public improvements around his new Nets' arena and mini-city. The state has agreed to fund the infrastructure improvements on the 22-acre project site in an agreement signed last year. Ratner wants the funds included in the final state budget due next Saturday as a show of good faith. Critics want the money used for other projects like a long delayed school.
