Big Fourth Quarter Keys Nets' Sixth Straight Win

In a possible playoff preview, the Nets traveled to Washington and got their sixth straight victory Tuesday night thanks to an incredible 41-point fourth quarter. It was a one-point game a minute into the fourth, but the Nets' bench keyed an offensive explosion and a 16-6 run made it an 11-point lead before the period was half over. The Nets cruised from there, shooting 12-16 in the final period and 56% for the game. Vince Carter led all scorers with 28 points, adding six rebounds and five assists. Richard Jefferson shot 11-15 from the floor for 27 points and Jason Kidd contributed 14 points, nine assists, seven rebounds and three steals. Lamond Murray, Clifford Robinson, Zoran Planinic and Jacque Vaughn combined to shoot 11-17 off the bench for 26 points.
