After a lackluster second quarter in which they were outscored 31-14, the Nets were down by 12 to the Hornets Monday night at the Meadowlands. They turned things around quickly though, pushing the ball and opening the third quarter with a 20-7 run to take back the lead. After the Hornets faught back to lead by three after three, the Nets started the fourth quarter on a 21-5 run to put the game away. The big three led the way as Jason Kidd finished one rebound away from a triple-double, Richard Jefferson led all scorers with 26 points (adding 9 boards and 7 assists) and Vince Carter added 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Nenad Krstic returned to the lineup to score 16 points on 8 of 11 shooting and Clifford Robinson contributed 11 points off the bench. The Nets recorded 32 assists on 36 field goals, their highest ratio of the season.
