Brooklyn Assemblyman Roger Green has offered legislation that would provide a $25 million tax credit to Nets' owner Bruce Ratner if he covers the rooves of his new mini-city--including the Nets' new arena--with vegetation. These "vegetated rooftops" help reduce the temperatures in cities by replacing rooftops using black tar or rubber materials.
