Buried in recent court filings by Bruce Ratner's development company is a claim that unless delays in approval and construction are ironed out quickly, they "could jeopardize the project"--the entire $3.5 billion mini-city anchored by a Nets' arena. Ratner claims that he is hemorrhaging money, including operating losses for the Nets. The question is whether the assertion is for real or a ploy to get things moving.
