With the trade of Marc Jackson and Linton Johnson III to New Orleans for swingman Bostjan Nachbar complete, the Nets are turning their attention to Bulls forward Tim Thomas expected to be released in the next few days. In an email to ticket holders, Rod Thorn said the trade permits the Nets to focus on "a player that could fill a need". There will be stiff competition for Thomas from a number of other teams, but Chicago may not release him to a team they are "chasing", which could mean the Sixers.
