NETS ACQUIRE BOSTJAN NACHBAR FROM
NEW ORLEANS/OKLAHOMA CITY
Trade Marc Jackson and Linton Johnson III

The trade that we made today with the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets addresses two important issues, one on the personnel side, the other on the business side.

On the player front, both Marc Jackson and Linton Johnson are solid professionals with diligent work habits and very good attitudes. However, neither of them were part of Coach Frank's rotation. In Bostjan Nachbar, we have added a good athlete who was the 15th pick of the 2002 NBA draft and clearly has the potential to be a solid contributor off the bench.

On the business side, this transaction allows us to get under the luxury tax, which provides us with flexibility in terms of signing a player that could fill a need.

Thank you for your continued support of Nets Basketball. We continually strive to be the best we can be and look forward to a strong run into the playoffs.

Sincerely,

Rod Thorn
